Soul winning and spiritual re-awakening of the world

Evangelical Department

Pastor S. O. Oladele

The evangelical department office of Christ Apostolic Church is traditionally reserved for prophets and evangelists. The occupant of this office leads the evangelical efforts of the church and he is the number one prophet and evangelist of the church. All evangelists in the church are under him. He organises crusades and all evangelical outreaches of the church. He oversees other prophets and evangelists in the church. He authorises permits for the evangelists to minister any in assemblies of the church.

The first general evangelist of the church was Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola. He had been functioning as a prophet/evangelist since 1928 when he joined the Faith Tabernacle Group. He officially became the general evangelist when the church was incorporated in 1943. He was still holding the office in 1959 when he died. The second general evangelist was Prophet David Olulana Babajide. He was the right hand man to Prophet Babalola. Prophet Babajide succeeded apostle Babalola in 1959 and retired from the office in 1991. He was succeeded by evangelist Jacob Oluwatuberu Alokan in 1993. Evangelist Alokan retired from the office of general evangelist in 2015 and prophet Samuel Kayode Abiara was appointed to succeed him in December 2006. Prophet Abiara also retired from the office in 2017 after attaining the retirement age of 75. Prophet Hezekiah Oluboye Oladeji, the incumbent general evangelist assumed office in January 2018.
